Phoenix, AZ ( Pressreleasecollection ) March 26, 2010 - The opportunity to serve has long been a goal of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul Phoenix and its new blog – HelpingThePoor.org - is helping reach donors and volunteers by providing essential updates on the nonprofit’s programs, services and recent news.
A Higher Mission
St. Vincent de Paul Phoenix, dedicates its efforts to serving the those in need throughout central and northern Arizona, while also providing others with the opportunity to serve. This organization’s helping hand has uplifted the homeless persons in Arizona and survive the toughest times of their lives. If it wasn’t for this organization’s move to Donate Food in Phoenix Arizona, many starving people out there would have clueless on their life.
With a program lineup that includes services for the homeless, medical and dental care for the working poor, charity dining rooms, a transitional housing shelter and even thrift stores, it’s the one place thousands of individuals turn to each year for help. By helping those in need in Arizona, this organization has a huge support from people around the planet through their prayers and financial help.
“Every day, individuals go without lunch or dinner and families get evicted from their homes,” said Steve Zabilski, executive director of St. Vincent de Paul Phoenix. “Arizona's homeless need help now more than ever before and our new blog is just one more way we can reach those who can help as well as those who need help. We post regularly about what’s going on, what’s needed and who’s helping, and so far, it’s been a fantastic way to reach out to the community.”
Online opportunities help nonprofits reach more ears
These days, many people turn to the Internet for news on demand. They rely on blogs and social networking sites like Twitter for updates on news and events in their daily lives.
When the earthquake struck Haiti, Twitter took center stage in 140 characters or less. With pictures, updates and even charity donations, Twitter was able to help more people than most of the other sites online and charity organizations like St. Vincent de Paul have to make the leap forward with everyone else to stay relevant to donors, volunteers and other supporters.
“The need for help in communities across the nation is very real and the HelpingThePoor.org blog is a great way to reinforce that message,” added Zabilski. “Many people don’t have time to read brochures or stop by one of our campuses or dining rooms to find out how they can help, so we connect with readers online to provide them with that information on their schedule.”
The blog of St. Vincent de Paul Phoenix will be a great boon both for people who are in need and the kind hearted people out there helping those in need. Charities of Phoenix is now ready to utilize the advantage of Web 2.0 in sharing news to the world and get great donations and help the homeless people of Arizona.
