WebtoIM begins answering your questions on GTalk using web-derived knowledge today

Delhi, India ( PressReleaseCollection ) April 29, 2009 -WebToIM is just a buddy on the popular instant messaging service Google Talk or GTalk which can act like your assistant who knows a few answers. You can ask practically any query to this auto-assist and it will attempt to answer it in a single sentence, without mincing words or worse still, providing links to web sites.

OR more seriously,

and -voilà!- the answer: No

So if you have any more questions that you might want to ask popping into your head right now, all you have to do is add webtoim into your GTalk contact list.

The service has its home page with (no more real information than this article) at http://www.webtoim.com and it uses the True Knowledge API available at http://www.trueknowledge.com for its answering assistant service.

“One of the reasons we launched on the IM platform is that it becomes like your answering assistant and that’s what we envisioned it to be” says Derren Wilson, co-founder of the company.

So to the question of whether they bring web services to the IM because it is just cooler to be on an IM, Derren replies “No, Instead of giving links back it provides an interactive way of knowing everything that’s there to be known about a topic. Allowing, you to drill down with a series of questions based on the answers given.”

Answering questions is just the beginning. There are other services that they are planning to bring to the IM platform in varied areas like productivity, email and social networking. This service aims to expand to other IM networks as well like AIM, Yahoo and MSN Messenger very soon. “Apart from this, one of the immediate plans is to integrate the Yahoo search so we can offer links as an extended part of the answers, for further reading” says Derren Wilson co-founder of the site.
