NEW YORK CITY ( PressReleaseCollection ) April 3, 2009– Fertile Hope announces the launch of its new online Cancer & Fertility Referral Guide, a one-of-a-kind tool for the cancer community and the most comprehensive listing of fertility services in the United States and Canada.

Available exclusively at www.fertilehope.org, the Referral Guide includes more than 800 searchable listings of reproductive clinics and companies as well as several new features like a comparison tool, appointment request system and financial assistance application. Detailed information is provided on each company listed including the services they offer, initial consultation fees, insurances accepted, success rates and more.

“The majority of young adult cancer patients are at risk for infertility from their cancer treatments and have limited time to seek fertility-related services,” said Lindsay Nohr Beck, cancer survivor and Founder and Executive Director of Fertile Hope. “In response to this need, our goal with the Referral Guide is to present a wealth of relevant information in a format that makes it easily accessible and actionable.”

Oncology healthcare professionals can also use the Referral Guide to provide detailed information about local fertility centers when making referrals for their patients. For example, a social worker can use the Referral Guide to help a patient find a sperm bank near him, make an appointment and apply for financial assistance all at the same time.

“Like everyone in my situation, after my cancer diagnosis I was immediately online trying to make sense of it all. Using a tool like the Referral Guide would have been a huge time-saver,” said Sabrina, a breast cancer survivor who froze eggs as a recipient of Fertile Hope’s Sharing Hope financial assistance program. “It can be overwhelming to try to find your way in the reproductive world at the same time you’ve been plunged into the cancer world. What a relief to have the Referral Guide to shine a light on exactly what you need.”

The guide enables users to search based on their location and for specific services, including sperm banking, egg freezing, in vitro fertilization services, mental-health services, surrogacy agencies, adoption agencies and fertility-related complementary and alternative medicine. They can also search for a specific center or doctor.

“Fertile Hope knows how to use their website to provide clearly presented, easy to digest, dynamic information to its users,” said Marko Andrus, founder of Webflow Solutions, the web development company that built the new tool, “They understand how to make the latest technology work for their visitors.”
