Bristol, UK ( PressReleaseCollection ) November 5, 2008 -Businesses looking to connect with tech savvy customers should consider developing their own iPhone apps, to capitalise on the massive sales growth that iPhones and similar devices will experience over the next few years, say business experts. Last year 10 million iPhones were made, and it is projected that next year there will be 40 million more, says business expert and IMC Strategy Lab Digital Strategy Director Robb Hecht.

On his weekly business TV show on yourBusinessChannel, Hecht recommends that businesses seriously consider developing and branding their own iPhone applications to capitalise on this growth. “Given the immense interest in downloading apps it can only make sense that if a business truly wants to lead in the mobile space and connect with consumers in real time, development of an iPhone or Google Android app should at the top of their minds,” says Hecht. Android is a software service developed by Google for mobiles.

Users have shown great enthusiasm for downloading applications for their iPhones, and as a consequence all sorts of applications have been developed to help people connect with each other - social networking apps, location-specific apps, smart apps, and so on – since iPhones were first introduced. Some apps are created by software and business experts, others by normal users.

“There is a very valuable opportunity here for businesses and brands to connect with their target consumers via these apps,” says Hecht on his business TV show. “For a brand to move beyond an online digital presence, the next step is to figure out what are the utilitarian value apps that they can develop, brand, and offer via market places for iPhone and Android applications. If consumers use these apps, the business is in an ideal situation to establish customer relations with them, feeding data back and forth, and being there for the customer.”
